White bags containing the remains of cremated AIDS sufferers are piled up in front of a Buddha statue at the Wat Prabat Nam Phu Buddhist temple. The remains are among thousands that are unclaimed by families who have rejected kin with AIDS. For more than a decade Wat Pra Baht Nam Phu temple has been caring for AIDS patients, many of whom have been rejected by their families and society and come to the temple to die.
