The Milestone House Quilt is a work in progress. It was created in the mid 1990s by arts staff working within a hospice environment. Many people had died and there was a desire to produce a locally relevant quilt. The fox was chosen as it had been adopted early on as a symbol for Milestone House and the tree of life design depicts loss, change and hope. Names are embroidered onto leaves which are then sewn onto the quilt. Each year a few additional names are added - some for recent deaths and some to remember people who died many years ago. The Milestone House Quilt has the size of a standard quilt block: 3.60 x 3.60 m (= 12 x 12 feet).
