In Lviv in the square on the corner of the sJapanese Street and Academician S. Yefremova Street, a memorial sign in the form of a red ribbon was unveiled on the occasion of the commemoration of the people who died in the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Lviv is the second city in Ukraine after Kiev, where such a monument was installed.
According to the UN report, in 2005 Ukraine ranked 6th in the world in terms of the spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The analysis of official data on the spread of HIV infection suggests that the epidemic continues with a tendency for further growth in all regions of Ukraine.
