Living Histories
In 2003 the Haemophilia and HIV Life History Project that was based at Brighton University and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund began. The project aimed to record interviews with 30 haemophiliacs with HIV about their lives and experiences. The recordings have been placed in the British Library. The personal perspective of this dramatic medical and social event where 1,200 people in the UK were infected with HIV through the use of contaminated Factor Eight treatment has been captured for later generations to hear how it felt from the people who lived it.
